ASOCIACIÓN JUVENIL INTER
A youth association experienced in YOUTH IN
ACTION Programme since 1996, so it has an informal European Youth Network;
considered a body active at European level since we got an operational grant
agreement (2011-14).
Since 2012 INTER belongs to Anna Lindh
Foundation to promote intercultural dialogue among Mediterranean cultures.
Since 2013 INTER is accredited as EVS sending
organization, so we can send volunteers from any European country to
participate in an EVS project in other European country.
AIMS:
-Develop mobility
projects
-Foster tolerance
& fighting against exclusion attitudes (racism, xenophobia ...)
-Promote equality,
focusing on gender
-Foster European
awareness
-Promote active
participation of young people
-Use non formal &
informal education methodologies.
ACTIVITIES: youth exchanges, seminars, youth initiatives,
youth democracy, training courses, youth information, consulting, YiA local
campaigns.
The staff has much experience working in youth
information, organizing YIA projects, participating in YIA courses. The project
manager is an expert on intercultural learning, exclusion attitudes & a
facilitator; 1 youth worker expert on conflict mediation; 1 on teaching
languages. And many other volunteers with different profiles.
INTER is open to any youngster, giving priority
to disadvantaged (handicapped, from rural areas, unemployed).
We collaborate with other NGOs & the local
administration to carry out projects.
AJ INTER would like to invite partner
organizations that already have experience in youth exchanges and have
cooperated with our organization to participate in a seminar to improve the quality of our youth exchanges in the future.
The general aims are:
-
To
exchange good practices to improve youth exchanges. (Centred on
Preparation/expectation, Visibility, Dissemination-Final results,
certification).
-
To
focus on 2 key elements in youth exchanges: European values and intercultural
learning.
According to our experience in Youth in Action
programme, there are certain aspects in youth exchanges that need to be
reviewed and strengthened in order to get the best results:
-
How
to get motivated participants, get gender balance and how to prepare
participants properly?
-
How
to get intercultural learning effectively? What working methods work always?
What does not work at all?
-
How
to work European citizenship effectively?
-
How
to get the best of Youthpass? How to motivate participants to get Youthpass?
How aware about its utility?
-
How
to improve the work of youth leaders & youth workers? Do you know youth
workers & youth leaders’ portfolio? And, do you use it?
-
What
strategies are effective to give visibility and dissemination to the project?
Thus, we wish to analyse difficulties we have
when creating and developing a youth exchange, exchange ideas tools &
strategies and suggest solutions, creating a practical guide to be published in
English, at least.
Specific aims of the
seminar:
-
Analyse
weaknesses & strengths focusing on 2 key elements present in any youth
exchange: European values and intercultural learning.
-
Exchange
best practices in youth work and youth exchanges regarding the improvement of preparation
stage, visibility, DEOR and certification in order to create more quality
projects in the future.
-
Create
a practical guide for creating quality youth exchanges based on above
objectives.
-
Update
our knowledge on Erasmus+
-
Encourage
the use of youth leaders & youth workers portfolio.
-
Strengthen
INTER’s network of European organizations working in Youth in Action Programme.
